I love my Tarot deck because it helps me self reflect thru ambiguity. If I find myself faced with a lot of choices of not particularly huge importance (or sometimes, with a grain of salt, larger importance) that would normally choice-stuck me, or have rationalized through a worry but it's still bothering me and I could use a little out-of-my-head consideration, feeling out a card or two is really nice!
Also, there's such a fun aesthetic to having it and using it in the first place too of course ehehe. Feels very witchy and I love that...
Like, maybe the card(s) I picked provide a very clear parallel to pattern seeking brain, and if so, hell yea! Coming to one's own thoughts with a sense of therapeutic mindfulness / disconnection from ego that comes with this perceived external thing can be helpful in meaningful self reflection and rationalization. Sometimes the draws aren't obvious, and it requires a bit of thought to consider how it could relate. Either way though it gets me thinking, which is the most important part.
It's so easy in the day to day of life to trip into pitfalls of bad mental perceptions or loops that--because it's you and not an external party---can be pretty hard to identify. Some of these simmer and get baked in over time, or are colored specifically by things like recency bias. In the fast paced world we live in, being mindful of this and doing one's best to self reflect on the bigger picture of habits, identity, long term yearnings, is important.
Tarot cards provide a little noise into the system that can help me stay aware of myself, and as on track as I can manage. It's like rolling a die with specific self considerations. I usually just look up what kind of draws I get, and it gives me a new thing to reflect on based on what I asked it. "What's the best thing for me to focus on today?", "How's my day going to look?", etc. I get a little tidbit to think about in relation to what I've asked, and it helps a lot.
Also they have cute CATS on them that always make me smile :3
