do people credit anthropomorphic cartoon animals of the 80’s/90’s - your Robin Hood foxes, what have you - as originating the modern movement (presumably because a lot of individuals had similar responses to it)? Or, is it thought that those characters were themselves made by people who were already saying “hot fox” in their hearts and to each other? Mostly just curious whether there’s a history of community that predates this stuff, or if a big company’s big commercial product just ran off in an unexpected way, or some third thing I haven’t thought of.
