i'm sure it's probably just a whole "oh yeah lots of frogs sound like that" thing, but the pobblebonks sound a lot like the ones at the marsh i go by most days!

i can't go to hell - i'm all out of vacation days. i watch space rocks and yell at computers for my day job. probably too old for any of this
i think i might be burned out on internet social. it's hard to keep doing it. it's hard to even maintain the amount of attention i'm already giving it
i am the cause of most of my own problems
furthermore, capitalism must be destroyed

what i love about kookaburras is they're like hollywood's go to stock sound effect for "jungle" even in places thousands of miles from their actual habitat
it's been funny seeing streams of the newer Zelda games, where on hearing these noises in the jungley areas, part of the chat goes "kookaburras?" and part goes "monkeys?"
God, I thought of mentioning monkeys specifically because I could swear I've heard kookaburras used for monkey sounds too
magpie: mid-2000s feature phone default ringtone; 8.5/10
pobblebonk: lesser-known slack notification sound; 7/10
kookaburra: [has never been to australia] OH THAT'S WHAT THAT STOCK SOUND EFFECT IS FROM
australian raven: same, buddy; 1,000/10
It's gotta be the kookaburra though right? What a joyous sound. Love 'em.
same tbh
because like, i listened to the banjo frog and was like "...that's just spring peepers. that's just frogs."
