i don't mean to be rude or silly if this is like obvious or something but why are the four quadrants different brightnesses?

oh, to reach high output speeds, it's got four different readouts for the CCD, each of which handles one quarter of the chip - since they're different physical hardware with slight unavoidable variations, they're not outputting exactly the same levels into the ADC so you see them as slightly different brightness levels
these images are all raw directly out of the camera, so that artifact is left in - for analysis, we would apply calibrations to level it out
