i think it's an interesting subjective difference in how we perceive things that people will talk about video essays or podcasts or audiobooks as "good background noise for working," while if i so much as put on any music with lyrics in it, my focus will be disrupted because my brain will automatically and involuntarily shift to laser focusing on actively parsing those sounds for language as a foreground task that pre-empts all others
anyway, as a tangent, i cannot relate to any of these "most raw lyrics" coposts because i mostly just avoid lyrical music1

there are exceptions but theyre rare, and why they're exceptions is, so far, not particularly quantifiable2

but frequent exposure does seem to make backgrounding easier - so basically anything that got radio play in the 90s or store music (esp suuuuuper reptitive things like xmas) can be tuned out
