i can't go to hell - i'm all out of vacation days. i watch space rocks and yell at computers for my day job. probably too old for any of this

i think i might be burned out on internet social. it's hard to keep doing it. it's hard to even maintain the amount of attention i'm already giving it

i am the cause of most of my own problems

furthermore, capitalism must be destroyed

in reply to @AutomaticTiger's post:

Are we talking VRchat avatars in general or this specifically? In general it has a bit of a learning curve but modding a pre-made base isn't the hardest thing in the world even if the interface is intimidating.

As for doing weird stuff with bases like the Winterpaw Fem Canine and Hyenid specifically...well I just look at what stuff I can push and prod and mess with, push it to extremes, and see how close I can get to photos of actual animals.

The retexture on this was pretty much just grabbing my drawing pad, finding a decent brush, and trying strokes in substance painter, again consulting photos, until it looked 'good enough'.

I can field more specific questions about all of it but that might be outside the scope of a comment, heh.

Kind of a delayed response here but: depending on what edits you might want it isn’t necessarily as hard as you would think. Even this tiger shape was really just changing sliders. The harder part was painting the texture which is just hard because gestures vaguely that’s how drawing is. Even that was mostly just adding stripes to the extant texture though.

I have a long history of figuring out how to make software do something it isn't supposed to do since I was a kid imagining my kidpix images as games. Then using Microsoft Excel as a desktop Publishing program to make character sheets for my teenage homebrew RPGs and campaign settings. This to say nothing of RPG maker crimes I've done over the years. This is a logical extension of this.
