I didn't watch the Nintendo Direct because it was on at early-ass o'clock and also I don't usually watch the "partner" ones because it's usually a bunch of ports or stuff I can play elsewhere for the most part and can look up later. But I heard Japan got Mother 3 again. And I've realized that the main reason for not bringing that outside of Japan is probably not just not having a translation ready to go like they had sitting around for the first game on NES, but also not wanting to do a translation because of the fan one that already exists and assuming people who wanted to play that in the first place already did so that way, so there's not much business point in making an official one that would most likely be seen as inferior by the fans anyway.
If they did just decide to add it to Switch Online Plus Super Expand Ass elsewhere later just to appease somebody and it wouldn't cost much to flip that switch I'd think, it'd still be in Japanese. And I'm pretty sure they've put a number of Japanese language games on there already so it's not like it'd be unusual past being the first official Western release of that game in any form.
