I didn't watch the State of Sony Direct or whatever it is due to being busy at work, but I did hear about a new Death Stranding 2 trailer and had to check that out. Yes, it's still weird as hell. I feel like I'd want to play this when I get the chance, likely with a PC port if they're still planning on that later. Speaking of, I do have the first game to play through as well. I was enjoying it while I was playing before getting sidetracked with other games and events like I always tend to.

Whatever the implications of Palworld sales are for the industry at large, I just don't feel interested in playing the game. It can be left to the streamers to punch sheep and commit cannibalism/capitalism. Mainly I'm just not in the mood for early access survival crafting, or just general survival crafting really. Even though I could play it on Game Pass right now, and the fact that the Game Pass version is behind the Steam version due to certification apparently doesn't bug me either, I just don't wanna. As far as Game Pass, I'd rather get back to Starfield at some point soon and see how that goes finding what there is to do there, like sidequests and an OP as hell shotgun.

Also even if it wasn't on Game Pass, the developer's apparent MO of making survival crafting games that are eternally early access and also parody/largely borrow from Nintendo-type stuff plus maybe a couple other popular enough games at a base level isn't quite what I'm looking for and I had no intent to buy it anyway. However it is they came up with the monster designs, I can say that going by the packaging of Action Replay devices in the past, they clearly wouldn't need generative algorithms to make bootleg monsters.

As far as monster catching type games that are more my speed and aren't from long-running series, I guess that'd be Cassette Beasts. That's something that interested me from the start. And sure, the concept of "what if we gave monsters guns" is a thing that gets people's attention, but then you already had Digimon which has had monsters made of guns.

Here it is. There were certainly a lot of games last year and also a lot more job losses in games, and I'm expecting at least one of those things to continue all through this year. But as tradition, here's a list of games I beat last year ranked in some general order while I hope I can keep an income.

Also Baldur's Gate 3 isn't on here because I haven't even played it. Nor Alan Wake 2. But I at least would like to play the former at some point. For the latter, I bounced off both attempts to play the first game previously and found Control to be mainly okay. And as far as the new Zelda I've only just started on that but it seems neat so far.
