ig while I'm here I should also say that if you really want to minmax how much gil you get from the marketboards, make sure to go to a main city with a retainer vocate and check out what cities (if any) that have reduced tax rates. Then go to said retainer vocate in the city with best reduced rates and do the "Dispatch a retainer to [city]". I've seen tax ranges be 5% (base) to 3% to 0%.

It is not much of a change, but when your selling items for millions of gil, it'll really start to add up (5% tax on 1 million gil is 50k gil)

I would like to mention for those who want to do ffxiv housing but don't want to deal with having to go looking for actually open houses. Someone made a website called PaissaDB to track what houses are available for all DCs and worlds. https://zhu.codes/paissa

Also if you have dalamund, they have a plugin! It is called PaissaHouse and I recommend it because it will do sweeps of wards for you when you go to travel to a ward thru the menu, it's great because after you click on all the main ward buttons (you don't have to click the subdivisions) it will spit out all the ward/plot information into your chatbox so you can just focus on those (instead of going to the site). Which is great for someone like me who just wants to see houses in shirogane.
