This one was a kind of an impulse game that ended up still netting me a positive result (As long as you make the top 4, the game counts that as a win).

Plant Master's a side job that's kind of at odds with how the game effectively plays out. Most plant cards have Growth, which means they upgrade themselves between rounds if they're in your hand. Not in your deck. Not if you're using them. Some give you one-battle bonuses when you do finally absorb them, but needing to hold onto cards in a game that encourages being as lean as possible creates a real tension.

The plants also have Variations that invert their effects. Hard Bamboo is the variation of Sword Bamboo, gaining defense instead of making attacks. One of the plants grows into a random Variation and there's another that you absorb for a chance at getting Variations.

So anyway I got Hard Bamboo and Leaf Shield Flower in the midgame and tried to audible from Cloud Sword to to Sword Formation and defense stacking. In hindsight, I wasn't in the lobby where Leaf Shield Flower's Continuous effect really mattered, it only really applies to Internal Injury. I didn't try to make use of the card that turns Qi into Defense or find the one that copies your last Sword Formation card, which would have done better for building up enough Defense to be lethal.
