in reply to @SpectreWrites's post:

I have some code that can download all posts from an account, and another that can create EPUB of PDF from posts' contents, so for example I can create an ebook with all posts that hold a specific tag in chronological order or other things like that. The drawback is that it's something that is run locally and that I tweak myself for my specific needs so it's not very practical if to use if you're not a developer.
I'm reachable on Discord with the same handle.

My entirely sincere advice is that my way involves handcrafting XML files and swearing that I'm going to automate this Any Day Now, and nobody, including me, should do it that way

There's also a LibreOffice export-as-epub plugin. I forget why I wasn't thrilled with it, back in the day, but it does work; and @arquiloque worked out some kind of workflow using Google Docs' download-as-specified-format, I think

Basically: epub is a horrible corporate consortium creation. All the companies who were creating hardware ebook readers (except Amazon with the Kindle) wanted to converge on a standard, instead of continuing to roll their own proprietary formats (in the vain, belated hope of effectively competing with Amazon's Kindle).

So naturally, they simply went "what if the combined superset of our existing proprietary metadata formats, but bare-minimum-effort format shifted to XML from whatever horrific embedded-device binary soup we used, because we are a corporate consortium in the XML Era of corporate tech"
