Britain was going nuts with weird microcomputers in the 80s so there are a lot of unheard-of one-offs, but this one always stuck in my mind because of its bizarre name
I can't decide if "Grundy Newbrain" is better or worse than "The Dick Smith Wizzard"
it was almost called the "Newbury Newbrain" which is a sideways step at best

I looked it up and of course Clive Sinclair was involved with it. Really I wanted to know if Grundy was named after the characters from the long-running BBC radio soap opera The Archers but no, it seems there was just a guy named Stanley Grundy.
Apparently it was one of the machines in the running to be the BBC Micro, so there’s still a BBC connection there :P
Grundy Newbrain sounds like the character you'd invent if you couldn't get the rights to Frankenstein's Monster
Grundy was the mad scientist in Clive Sinclair's NewBrain; the monster was unnamed.
