i cannot fathom closing Tango, creators of one of the most highly acclaimed out-of-nowhere titles of last year. if there was ever any sign that the big corporations only want your game and will never have your back, this is it. this is so fucked.

At this point of the acquisition/closure onslaught, my question is also starting to be “which owner/employees benefited financially from the acquisition and are they financially helping peeps affected by the closure?”

Considering Robert Trump was a board member/major investor in Zenimax Media and died without heirs, technically one of the biggest payout winners of the acquisition was Donald Trump and the Trump Organization.

He left to found a new company to make games because he was unhappy at Tango because of Bethesda/MS. Tango 2 basically.

still fuming about this tbh. hi-fi rush was released on a subscription service with almost no pre-release hype and still caught success on sheer critical acclaim. msoft mishandled that game in every way possible and it was still amazing! it still made them money! and tango was cut anyway. there is no safety in the business under these corporations
Microsoft is really only interested in being Netflix for games. They want a back catalog and they don't care how many workers they have to sacrifice to the gods of the quarterly returns to make it happen.
