I found people on Tumblr to have a really thin skin, and I understand why. If you receive onslaught of hate mail, you are not going to start assuming good intention in ambiguous case. If a popular account replies to you, or worse, mock you, you will never hear the end of it. And if a transphobe share your post, all their transphobic friends will do the same, and Tumblr will start recommending you transphobic content.

It is sad though, because if you word an ask awkwardly, if you add something you think is funny (but the OP doesn't) or if you misunderstand a post, you will get yelled at. People will assume the worst, no one gives anyone the benefit or the doubt, or apply the principle of charity. I firmly believe it is fine to block anyone for any reasons, that's not my problem, my problem is that people will start ranting in your reply and that is not pleasant.

I hope new people on Cohost don't bring this attitude. If someone annoys you, just block them and if you receive an ask you don't like, don't reply please.
