Anyway, as for the Steam sales:
I got Halo Infinite on sale and I love a lot of it. The grapple fits the Halo formula almost perfectly and normal difficulty is still a challenge with how many enemies are around. The guns are leaps and bounds above Halo 4’s selection.
There’s definitely some bells and whistles that I wish it had: like, I’d love for squads to follow you in separate vehicles or something. I wish exploring was more rewarding in some ways, as I don’t mind Infinite being pure guns and combat in a mini-open world, but the two weapon limit makes it sort of pointless to go off the beaten path when I have my very reliable Battle Rifle/Commando and Mangler/Sidekick combo. I wish grapple was slightly longer and that two of the equipment powers didn’t feel useless. Those complaints aside, it’s definitely the best Halo game I’ve played since 3 (and ODST). (Reach is okay but not my favorite.)
Right before the sale closed, I grabbed Humanity, the Lemmings/Lego Alpha Team-like puzzle video game by the Tetris Effect people. It’s a damn good time, though it causes my Steam Deck to crash occasionally on wake-up. I still highly recommend it, though. It got released the same week as TOTK and got swept up in the news cycle. It, along with Kingdom Eighties, are perfect chill games before bed.
