Mole's Adventure is a Japanese animated short that was broadcast on color TV in 1958. A mole has a dream about visiting the Moon. The mole moves on the surface using skis, to avoid sinking and getting stuck in the terrain.
A Grand Day Out with Wallace and Gromit is a British plasticine animation short from 1989. A man and a dog visit the Moon, encounter a coin operated robot cooker and inadvertently inspire it to want to ski. It ends up skiing on the Moon.
It's implausible for Mole's Adventure to have inspired Wallace and Gromit, since it's not just obscure, it was essentially lost media until 2013. So I think it's a nice of example of how 2 stories can coincidentally feature similar weird ideas without the earlier one being the inspiration for the other.
