If a book is a translation, I think it's a good sign if the translator credit is easily noticeable. Title page at least, but preferably the cover. Especially for novels, but comics too.

To be honest, that's one reason why I like buying books in Finland. The translator's name is always under the title of the book on the cover.
That seems to be how it is in Japan too. There's been calls for it to be treated as best practice in the UK, but it's still patchy.
