I am a sucker for manga about travelling through post-apocalyptic ruins. This series is packed with elements that feel familiar, but frankly I'm fully ready to eat up a skilled remix of that material, because it's all stuff I'm very fond of. It's got the quality of art needed to convey the setting, and it strikes a good balance between the melancholy of what was lost and hope for the future.

The protagonist, Ushimitsu Saya, is a synthetic girl on a mission to cremate the vast numbers of dead and secure survivors so that maybe one day civilization can restart. Occasionally she has to fight the monsters that caused the apocalypse, but luckily she's an immortal with rapid self-healing and a very powerful handgun.

Not that Saya would revel in violence though. Instead she's polite, keen to help and quietly sentimental. Early chapters saw her travelling with just her mascot character, running into AI characters to provide conversation, so it was close to a series of vignettes, but now it has settled into a more conventional long term adventure.
