
I love the colors you use. How do you achieve the soft blue on the bottom half?
I just layer the colors. This one I think I put the blue down first, but as you can see it makes that a bit strange pattern where the lighter ink pushes the darker blue around.
love this one! feel like sticking to traditional media gives your drawings a really good sense of energy. the lil orange rim around the shadow edge is very smart
Thank you!! I'm trying to learn line control, making progress little by little. I didn't really plan how to do the colors, so i just kinda threw them together. Hoping to get to that level with watercolors where I can just throw something together and it'll look decent!
yeah once you unlock wash and gradation proficiencies you’ll really start flying. i think you’re on the right track with that stuff!
I've also got watercolor pencils, and i think i can prob do some clever stuff with those re: that orange light falloff around shadows that could look pretty cool
ooh yeah that's worth experimenting with! even if you don't actually put water on em, watercolour pencils look nicer in mixed media imo because they have a more matte finish than regular colour pencils
