I really liked Slime Rancher 1, and Slime Rancher 2 is basically more of it.
I keep running into the problem of not finding specific resources, like Jellystone, and if there is an in game way of marking or finding them I haven't found it.
Slime Rancher 1 I also played in the beta version, and didn't realize it had anything like a plot-line or end goal until years after it came out. I feel like that will also be true of 2, but I think that's fine. I like games like this to bounce around and explore things, maybe listen to podcasts and zone out.
Though I think that can work against these games as you play them. I find myself feeling kind of lost and aimless, and in 1 they had missions to like, deliver chickens or plorts or whatever and get a little bonus and I find myself missing that here since I'll often find myself short or a few resources pretty often.
I also wish decorations just cost cash. I just can't find any motivation to decorate when I need those resources for other things. But I'm also a player that just doesn't find much use for many of the gadgets, even if they could technically be helpful. And I find myself not wanting to experiment with them because I'm usually using resources to try and build more links or teleports or something, or upgrades.
