It's pretty incredible how fast you can move through the city. Everything is more densely populated and the LOD pop-in is very minimal, even in the Performance 60fps mode, it's really impressive. Insomniac is obviously run by wizards and witches, but they do good work, so we won't burn them at the stake...unless they start doing some Live Service BS.
It's crazy that saying a AAA game is complete and fully playable at launch is a real 2023 complement, but here we are.
The 120hz 40fps mode is the sweet spot, and hopefully we get this more in other "next gen" games.

It's always fun to see what dark magic Insomniac has implemented into their games. I wanna say the original Spyro was one of the first games to use dynamic LoD.
On the tech side, I can't think of anyone else to match them except maybe Id.
They were literally right down the hall from each other at Universal during the PS1 days (where they met Mark Cerney as well) and helped each other with some tech.
