This is from Gamestop. Everything in the pic shows the original price, but what I paid for everything was $5 or $10 apiece (Tales and Scarlett Nexus were $5). There were multiple other games in that range, some I already have, and some that didn't interest me personally (Need for Speed Unbound was $6, for example). There were a couple others I can't think of off hand. Some are system specific, but definitely some good deals.
Amazon is doing similar sales, which I grabbed a couple there as well over the last week (the Quarry PS5 and Mato Anomalies for Switch--both $10), in the same price range, but they sell out almost instantly. Obviously we're not talking about GotY contenders, but at least some good 'rainy day' kinda stuff to try out, and at the very least should hold a resell/trade value around these discounted prices, if that becomes necessary.
I have no intention of playing them right away, considering I'm knee deep in Mario Wonder and Spiderman 2, but you've got to take the deals when they happen. It's the easiest way to build a collection. It's the same around black Friday, as stores want to get rid of extra stock to make way for the new stuff, and will have great deals for things that haven't sold well. Sometimes those niche titles go on to demand higher prices on the secondary market. Maybe it was a low print run? Maybe it was any number of goofy reasons, but sometimes the most unassuming game goes on to be a cult classic, and then the prices shoot up. I remember seeing Devils Third for Wii U, for like $12 back in the day, and I passed on it. Not sure what it goes for on ebay now, but it's a LOT more, lol.
*Edit: I added info for the QVC sale below. If you're looking for a new release, and have never purchased from QVC, this is a fantastic deal! 50% off a recent release!!
