They can actually argue that the new extras and features are worth a $10 upgrade.

Actually sounds like it's worth the 10 dollars, yeah. Deeply interested in that "roguelike survival mode" and want to know just how deep it goes into the "roguelike" and "survival" bits.
Also am curious if the difficulty on that is customizable, much like the base campaign.
Yeah, it's a pretty welcome surprise after how greedy Sony has been recently. I'll pay $10 for these extras.
Pretty sure you can buy this game for like $10, so $20 total is pretty good.
Out of curiosity I did a quick check and between $15-30 was the scale I saw. $15-20 mostly on ebay. Amazon and standard retail was closer to $35-40. Definitely attainable cheap though, and $25 for the ps4 copy and digital upgrade is worth it imo.
People will complain about this but jizz in their pants when Nintendo pumps out a barebones (or lesser) port of something with no upgrades at full price because apparently the collector's market for the original is what ports etc should be valued against.
$10 is more than fine.
But do I need to ever play this game again? No. No I do not.
Just replayed this game earlier this year. Looks like I'll be replaying it again next year! 10 bucks for the full upgrade for those who own the original is actually really good.
Well fuck me, did not expect them to do this. $10 is pretty reasonable, all things considering. Asking for full price for a double dip woulda been another story tho.
I think they really noticed the backlash from tLoU part 1. If they're smart, they are recognizing that any little way to get eyes on the show (the only reason they upgraded part 1 for ps5) then back to the games, is a net positive. Even simple free press like, who's going to play Abby in season 2? will get the non hardcore crowd to see the product and consider purchasing.
With the recent pause on like half of their live service games in development, and Factions being shelved, this seems necessary. If that came out and was successful, we both know this would probably be full price... at least that's my multiverse assumption, lol.
Yea I think there's a good chance if Factions wasn't put on ice they'd exclusively bundle it with this remaster in a $70 premium edition, like how they handled Miles + Spidey Remastered for a while.
Charging $70 for Part I was a really dumb move, and I'm sure you're right that the backlash influenced the decision to provide an upgrade here. If they had just sold Part I for $50 standalone (again, like Miles) they woulda been in a much better spot when that launched. Definite unforced error.
There are more remasters/remakes of the TLOU games than actual TLOU games =D
But I guess there's a market for this stuff and Sony can milk it dry.
I was curious about the first game for some time, but fell of my radar, but seems like the fans just can't have enough of these =)
