Dangun Feveron was the only M2 ShotTriggers Cave conversion I didn't have a physical for. I've had it digitally since release, but I got the physical copy a couple weeks ago from Limited Run's warehouse sale and it showed up today.
It's a disco themed shmup. Not my favorite Cave shmup, but it's still a fun time.

Mikado's announced another Shooters Fes event for 2024—ICYMI, these are STG-centric live gathering that bring together active commercial STG devs to reveal or talk about their new/upcoming projects, sell merch, etc. I wanna say last year's event got turned into a series of panels at TGMS or some other con, so this is their first dedicated event in a minute.

The schedule on the website lists a lot of familiar participants: Taito, Granzella, City Connection, M2, Success, etc. I guess the biggest surprise is that some of the Bitwave folk from Sweden are going to be there, talking about their Toaplan Steam ports.

There are still a few as-yet-unrevealed slots on the schedule, but City Connection's kicking off with the announcement of a new game, and Happymeal (makers of Final Exerion) are hosting a "Final Series" panel, so I expect they'll reveal their next Jaleco IP revival game. I also expect Granzella to informally announce something, because Kujo informally announces things any time he appears in public.

It'll be streamed on Mikado's channel, and I fully expect the Mikado manager's dad-rock VGM band to play a tune or two.

15:00: Neotro (NeverAwake, and they're teasing something... might be connected to a loop lever/spinner controller)
16:00: Pyramid (Alice Gear Aegis... probably just demoing their customary April Fools caravan minigame)
17:00: Granzella (R-Type Final 2/3/Tactics 1+2, plus whatever else Kujo feels like mentioning)
18:00: Taito (Ray'z Arcade Chronology Strahl aka the DVD concert release, and maybe something else...?)
19:00: M2 (DOJ Rinne Tensei, and maybe more...?)
20:00: Hamster (probably just demoing already-released/announced stuff, but who knows)
21:00: Bitwave (Toaplan PC ports, and probably a date/drop for the final batch)
22:00~23:00: ending (might just be chat, might also be dad rock)

The little hints I've been given suggest it might be another Taito collab... and as I'm typing this, I just remembered that they already announced a Night Striker reissue way back when, so I guess they'll formally reveal that project

that or more Toaplan stuff, they're long overdue on some of those (but like, what aren't they overdue on)

The last couple of days have been not so fun, i've been sick as a dog. Had to mask up this morning to go to my new rheumatologist. I felt okay this morning and thought I was over it, but after getting there I started getting clammy and felt like an inferno was going on internally. I was sweating profusely and my throat hurt to the point it was hard to speak. I do sound like Optimus Prime right now... I guess that's cool? I probably should've canceled, but I haven't had a rheumatologist since October of last year and I really needed to get my biologic prescription. So many rheumatologists have been leaving locally and finding one that will accept my insurance has been ridiculous. Luckily all of that went really well, but I still feel like shit. I never get sick, like ever. I mean, my immune system is trying to kill me, ha ha, that's why I use Cosentyx, and now switching to Embrel. Blah blah, my brain is foggy as hell, I'm just really not used to this.
Anyway, my Korean version of Battle Garrega showed up. I missed the Limited Run release years ago, and refuse to pay those prices for it. I got this cheaper than it goes on Play-Asia, which itself is MUCH less than the Limited Run US versions go for. Ive played so many of M2's games that I know exactly what everything is in the options menu,, and its not like I need to read the story, lol.
I've had it digitally for many years, but I want all the M2 ShotTriggers games physical if can get them. I'm only missing Dangun Feverun now, but I'm not a big fan of that one anyway (it's in no way bad, it just doesn't click with me), so whatever. I really hope ShotTriggers ports the sort of sequel, Armed Police Batrider. The Rizing shmups are pretty underrated imo.
Been playing Bomb Rush Cyberfunk the past couple days, and it's really good, but has some frustratingly obvious issues that are simple fixes. It's like they specifically wanted the things that were bad about Jet Set Radio... for authenticity? Anyway, it's still great for what it is.
Time to take some meds and suck on some ricola. I can't sleep if I can't breath through my nose. Didn't sleep for shit yesterday, so hopefully I can get some sleep tonight. We'll see 🤷‍♂️🤧

I didn't get the 1cc, but considering it was on the Switch, in portable mode, I'm quite happy. I've gotten the 1cc on the PS4 version, with my arcade stick, but not on the Switch...definitely not in handheld mode. These Nyxi joycons have proven to be pretty accurate.
I'm sure I can get it with a bit more practice now. M2 ShotTriggers are the absolute goats!!
Dodonpachi DOJ is port perfection!!!
