A friend told me yesterday that he preferred to work on kids games because "three year old's don't send you death threats" and I felt that in my bones.
I imagine that another nice thing about making kids games is that kids really appreciate well crafted ones that know kids can be very clever, and end up thinking about them for a long time.
I recently saw Ron Gilbert say on Mastodon that he's more proud of his kids adventure games like Putt-Putt and Freddie Fish than anything else he's worked on, including Monkey Island. As he should be since those are fantastic games and made a lot of kids happy including myself, and now my kids are fans of them.
