i loved doom 2016 so much. so so much.
i quit out of doom eternal after the first like three hours and went back and played every single retro Doom game I could find (1, 64, 2, a bunch of wads). doom eternal felt like an embarrassment. one of the worst sequels in modern history
I'm so glad cohost has normal people on it that also recognize Eternal was an overcomplicated, vision-less mess that can't hold a candle to 2016
I also played the shit out of 2016 and then put in like 2 hours into Eternal before putting it down forever
i really loved eternal when i started playing it because i loved how much more technical it was compared to 2016. then i played ultrakill and realized doom eternal didn’t even hold a candle to it and ultrakill was what i had really wanted. i have not touched doom eternal once ever since i bought ultrakill.
