the eclipse is concerning for many reasons (god mad at us), but we rarely talk about the shadows becoming crescent-shaped...so I'm supposed to go through the rest of my life with the knowledge that all of my shadows are actually "round" ?? As if all Meaning hasn't collapsed?

The edge of every shadow has light that originated from the opposite edge of the sun. Since whatever is casting the shadow has blocked the rest of the sun from the shadow's perspective. It's only odd if the moon takes a bite out of that edge of the sun and leaves two points from the sun to cast that edge of the shadow, instead of one.
heh yeah! we think it's super cool honestly, but then we enjoy being outside the delicate soap bubble that others call reality
