And it ruled! Holy moly what a cool fun movie. More-importantly though... it got us to watch Deathstalker II
We skipped the first one cuz the video said it was p forgettable, but holy shit Deathstalker 2 is a certifiable classic. They have someone look directly full-frame into the camera and say the words "Deathstalker 2" and then you get a stinger and the title "Deathstalker II" splashes across the screen. It only gets better from there.
It's got surprisingly good fight choreography , incredible chemistry between the two leads, and it's actually really funny on purpose! There's this whole extended scene where an all-woman warrior tribe forces the hero into a legit actual pro wrestling match against the spectacular Dee Booher. It was a funny scene, but also just an actual amazing pro wrestling match. The fact that she's so much bigger than the male lead meant she could pick him up and just do all kinds of fun stuff with him.
I won't go into everything it does that rules but... holy shit this movie rules. It isn't even a "so bad it's good" situation, it's just great.
