I dont know what your plans are long term regarding mecha stuff, but heres my favorite mecha shows if youre looking for recommendations:
-Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket(short and doesnt need background since youve watched/watching 0079)
-Turn A Gundam(pretty unusual for a gundam show)
-Evangelion main series
-Rahxephon(weird and surreal)
-Infinite Ryvius(best to walk into this with no expectations imo)
-Big O(noir....)
-The first 4 episodes of Gundam Thunderbolt(the rest is entirely different in terms of tone/purpose and came out later)
Bonus: Patlabor, Escaflowne, Gundam IBO, Gundam Unicorn, Gundam 0083, Gundam Witch from Mercury
I kinda came in with a list (Gundam OG up through CCA, Gunbuster for tonal counterbalance, show called Mospeada cause it was the precursor to Bubblegum Crisis which I like), and I'm making my way through that, and after that I may turn back to something else as the next Project.
Although I only realised after watching Mospeada that it was one of the three shows frankenstein'd together into Robotech, and it might be kind of funny to watch the other one that's not Macross (Southern Cross) and specifically only watch the shows related to that whole thing that nobody has heard of.
Ahh, I see. I wasnt aware of Mospeada, although ive heard a Bubblegum Crisis a fair amount.(and ofc about the frankenstein'd shows lol)
It's not something I'd go waving around to everyone but as a big BGC fan it was some neat history to see!
