I make visual novels! Also play them sometimes. Wish I had time for more of both. I also do a podcast and LPs, because I don't know how to stop myself.

And I'm going to have a talk as part of it! It’s called:

How To Make And Finish A Little Game When Everything Is Hard.

The talk will be live on the Hand Eye Society Twitch channel on Nov 26 at 4:15 PM ET, as part of SuperFESTival 2023 from Nov 20-26th!

It’s about how to make and finish little games even when life gets so rough it feels hard to do anything at all.

This is something I have a lot of experience with! I spent about ten years trying and failing to make any sort of game, up until 2019. That year, I decided to design a game almost entirely around the concept of being so incredibly little and simple and straightforward that as long as I kept working on it, eventually I would be able to reach the end.

And it worked! I released Night Shift in June 2019, and I’ve released over a dozen games in the four years since, by building off my own experience each time.

Struggling and being unable to do something for ten years really sucks. So, I hope that this talk can help you if you’re in a similar rut, or if you’re just interested in some tips for keeping your game projects little and manageable and completable!

How To Make And Finish A Little Game When Everything Is Hard is just one of the talks and panels which will be part of SuperFESTival next week. There's also a showcase of over fifty games from around the world, including Marcus Comes Out Online!
