Umineko is a big inspiration for me. I read it as a long term project in 2020. It got me to redirect my gamedev energy onto more narrative focused stuff, then I actually started finishing games I made.
But I picked Kanon specifically for a few reasons. Some light spoilers below the fold but nothing major
- He's a dweeb. (affectionate)
- I will always be drawn to a character who is deeply insistent on distancing themself from the concept of being a human and refusing when other people try to draw them out of that shell.
- Doubly so if it's related to Gender performativity.
- The expression is a mood.
If I was picking a favourite character it'd be Beatrice, but I don't have evil woman energy.
