👨👩👧👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — ¹how many people are in your oc's immediate family? ²how many people are in your oc's extended family? ³do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? ⁴who in their family are they closest with? ⁵are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?
As a general note, Akira believes all of her family to be dead. What's written here is general knowledge about them, and what she would learn were she ever to return to Doma. She might some day! She's... scared.
¹A Lot. Izumi and Hideyoshi married young and got started right away, though she actually gave birth a tiny bit later than her peers! Also, just to... like... prove they're related, here's what Akira would've looked like without her albinism!
gotta be honest the first time I drew her I fell in fucking love with her natural colour palette and am kind of sad I took this route with akira LOL
²A Lot. Not picture here because that would be... a lot. Most of Izumi and Hideyoshi's brothers, sisters, parents, and otherwise have families roughly as large as theirs, if not a tiny bit smaller. It's a lot.
³They do! Before everything changed, extended family would visit fairly often. Her unusual appearance earned her the attention of previously-distant family members, and that time spent actually ended up helping mend a few previously broken interpersonal relationships in her family. She doesn't know this, and she likely never will.
⁴Kanae Etsuko, her sister senior of 2 years. Akira's early childhood was rife with sickness, the young Raen's lungs underdeveloped and skin overly sensitive. Kanae helped take care of the young girl, and the two were inseparable. Akira looked up to her big sister a lot.
🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?
While she used to be a much better conversationalist, Akira is now rather closed off. She prefers not to speak wherever possible, and if she's in the presence of someone she's comfortable with, she would much rather... not? She shows her care through acts of service and would much prefer to show courtesy to guests and friends by fetching them treats than having to Engage In Conversation, but alas- she's still a lady of a house, albeit a much different house than before.
Also she squints a lot! Light hurts her sensitive eyes. Also also she really likes gently wrapping/squeezing people with her freakishly long tail it makes her feel safe!!
