every single advertisement for the new game by the genshin devs has just been like "hey look, we got, anime" and then shows me the most generic ass looking anime girl I've ever seen in my life like a perfect 2/10 on the interesting or compelling scale. I don't even know what the game actually is because every ad is just "look at this girl who has absolutely nothing interesting about her." I think there's trains? Never been less compelled by an advertising campaign

the single thing that's interesting to me is they've got a character called March 7th (yes that is her name) and it seems someone on the team at least was deliberately trying to flag her as trans because she's got that exact colour scheme and she's got a badge that literally has the exact trans pride flag as a ribbon
