As a strange-side effect of being so Tumblr-like, when it comes to trying to post to Cohost I always feel a weird compulsion to try and save my energy for longer-form posts (which I rarely get the energy for anyway so I almost never do it) so it feels weird trying to make smaller posts, despite the fact that it really shouldn't make any difference.

On twitter this was easy; the very short-form character limit got me used to just spouting my thoughts and condensing it to fit within a tweet or series of tweets. I guess I'll have to re-learn how to use a platform that doesn't try to optimize conversations.

Yeah it's, an interesting thing. I am someone who will absolutely spout words upon words if given enough space, but twitter is one of those places that incentivises impulsiveness and encourages you to post without thinking too hard about what you're putting out there on a public facing page.

Personally, I don't have anywhere near the amount of time for fast-paced conversations, so letting the pace of discussion slow is probably going to be a massive boost for my mental health.

I was never really good at conversations anyway, so... 🤷
