I love computers. I also "love" them in the same way vampires "love" to count spilled seeds or grains—I don't have a choice in it and I resent people taking advantage of that but I'll still fucking count the damn seeds. My favorite creative pastime is writing stories and fleshing out worlds, and admittedly I do have a bit of a compulsion for that, too, but my real compulsion is solving the puzzles of computer programming and hardware assembly.
It's for that reason I have IT certification and I'm still in school for software engineering. One of these things I'll get a job in where I'm compelled to do well, the other will be how I keep myself sane.
...Well, within reason. If I really wanted to get a job doing nothing but creative writing I'd be tearing myself apart to satisfy a publisher, and that I can't do. I'd burn out a year in.
I'm a storyteller at heart and a puzzle-solver at brain.
