Looking back Assault was not NEARLY as terrible as the word-of-mouth opinions savaged it with. Genuinely enjoyed the direction it took.
it is legitimately my favorite Star Fox game by a WIDE margin, and i LOVE SNES/64 so very much that that's high praise
played the multiplayer excessively when I wasn't re-running the main campaign back-to-back

as someone who grew up with star fox assault, the audio was always like that even on the gamecube. it's still one of my favorite games
I've been making a mod called Amethyst Edition that tries to fix a lot of the little issues with Adventures. It's a fascinating game with a lot of potential, such a shame it's clearly unfinished and rushed. Lots of fun to poke around the code though.
