We are living in a world where current pokemon games have astronomically less polish than sonic games do
(This is an aspersion on the decisions made by gamefreak and nintendo to have a new pokemon game basically every year. This is unsustainable and the employees at game freak are not to blame as much as the godawful release schedule and what are assuredly horrendous crunch conditions enforced by GF's executives. Scarlet/violet just look like shit, as a result)
I am sure plenty of people are still having fun with it and good for them but please don't pretend like these games are finished, they aren't
I remember seeing threads and watching streamers that called out all the video uploads of various bugs and issues with the new pokemon games as being misrepresentative; that they're either deliberately emulating the game badly or using outdated betas of the game to make it look worse than it is
and now the game is actually out, and no, it is just like that lmfao
