genuinely tried my fucking damnedest to make my feedback to The Thing the most good faith possible while still voicing my concerns and it galls me that the conversation fell apart so fucking quickly anyway. Maybe we're better off not having twitter around, but twitter and tumblr have invariably poisoned the way we think and the way we handle stressful issues. I seriously wonder if there's any way to get rid of that. I don't know. Unless something else comes up I'll shut up about this, I'd rather go back to trying to enjoy this website.
I'll... probably resub to cohost plus, too. I did get what I wanted, there's no reason I shouldn't continue to support the staff.
Ok one more thing. Yeah I know I gave an ultimatum about leaving the site, but it was still allowing for a month for the staff to change their decision. I seriously was not expecting such a rapid response, but honestly considering their financial situation I guess they’re incentivized to mitigate losing subscribers, at the least?
But I’m not about to be reductive and say that’s the only thing staff cares about. Of course not. They’re just 4 people trying to keep up with running a social media website. My personal distaste for what some of the rules allow has no bearing on my judgement of their character, and it shouldn’t have any bearing on yours either.
There’s more that could be improved, yes, and I’ll probably write them feedback about that too, in a week or something, because at this point they have already been subjected to enough shit from people I half-agree with. You know who you are, and tbh you ought to be ashamed. This isn’t twitter, the staff aren’t greedy sickos, the change sucked but they walked the worst part of it back, maybe they can do more, but maybe we can take a fucking week to have them decide and discuss it this time, at least.
