this picture was taken on my birthday, in july, in the gardens of Giverny, where Monet lived. It's a wonderful place, tiny village in the middle of nowhere but with beautiful, extraordinary gardens full of all sorts of flowers and landscapes that look... well, out of an impressionist painting.

this picture is nothing in particular, it's just a few flowers, they're pretty but it's not a piece of art. the composition is messy, the patch of light at the top left bled because the camera has an un-coated lens, the focus is pretty good but the aperture was open too wide so the foreground flowers are soft or outright out of focus, but... I like it. Fuji film is known for its greens, and I think they don't come out at all here, the yellows that Kodak film is more well known for comes out way more, ironically, and the flamboyance of the colors in the flowers is overpowering. Some of them are dead, but the ones up top look like they're almost dancing. I feel like that's a good birthday photograph.
