I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just here to shout my brainfarts into the void.
Even though this is a generally SFW account I might say or even rechost NSFW stuff so 🔞
This is in Godot? I didn't realize that you had that level of control over a window's position!! I love this and I'm so jealous that I didn't think of it :D
I'm sure you're busy jamming right now but would love to read about what you're doing to make this work!
Also: are you gonna try to get this working in the browser :o
hi yeah! sorry for not responding i only just now saw this again
this is godot, i could make a detailed post about it but all i'm doing is setting the window.size and window.position when appropriate. for rendering, there's a nice tutorial by geegaz that covers mostly everything you'd need to know: https://github.com/geegaz/Multiple-Windows-tutorial. my setup has a bit of extra stuff involved, such as some modifications to godot's source to make it handle input and rendering better
Ah thanks for getting back to me! And very cool to see the amount of attention this ended up getting :D
I think I probs actually meant "I'm surprised Windows lets you do this" moreso than that Godot; I've never seen an application do anything remotely like this.
Thanks a ton for the links. I just finished building a game in Mac's Finder, maybe next I can leverage this to build something funky :)
GL in LD!!
Cute.
Before Microsoft decided that security was maybe a thing that should exist, there were some games that had cross window interactions. Always enjoyed the missiles firing between windows in Metal Marines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiiAUP1fG14&t=300s
love the creativity going on here with the window! always fun screwing around with the OS lol.
I love this so much. Experiments with window interaction are in too short a supply.
