Summarized from the jam page: anything goes, use any engine, submit as many entries as you want. Gameplay not necessary! Craft an empty Quake map with beautiful architecture to admire! Create a breathtaking OpenSurge platformer zone. Be as simple or as elaborate as you like, the only thing that matters is that you prove to the world that you were here. You lived Cohost.
The Community function for this jam is now turned on in case you guys need to chat beyond Read-Only Day. All entries for this jam and the previous jam will be bundled and uploaded to Moddb for the whole world to enjoy.
You have till the end of the year to finish your entries, when Cohost finally and truly goes dark
Don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help if you're new to gamedev and would like some help getting started on something.
If you got something rolling for the first jam but didn't quite finish it, now's your chance!
I'm biased towards these classic engines because they're what I grew up with. I will stress that you don't have to go with these engines, but this is what I'm able to reach out and collect together on short notice so if you are using any of these game engines, this will hopefully help you get started.
If you want to try out something else, like making SuperTux or TuxKart levels or something, I'm sure there's stuff out there to help you, you just gotta dig for it. If it matters to you, you will dig for it. Claw that information right out of the cyberspace dirt, and claim that knowledge for the rest of your life
