lately i have been weirdly obsessed with reading about the lives of eccentrics. maybe i see myself in them bc theyre often just weird people with uncommon interests who mostly keep to themselves. but this one guy i just read about is kind of bugging me bc everything about his life seems so performative. i mean that he calls himself eccentric, he seems to care very much about how the world sees him, giving himself titles like "most famous [blank] man in the city," and the weirdest part for me: in interviews i have never seen him cite any of his influences or talk about fav authors or anything like that, instead quoting himself like peggy hill. idk why im letting myself get so bothered by a guy but i guess i just feel like i usually come away with something valuable when i read about the life of an eccentric, and im just not getting anything here
