After leaks indicating its arrival, it's now official: Sonic Origins is gonna receive an expansion in the form of Sonic Origins Plus. Not only featuring new content like a playable Amy Rose and all Game Gear Sonic games, but with a physical release as well.

The newly revealed trailer showcases a playable Amy Rose in the classic Sonic games, as well as Knuckles being playable in Sonic CD, something that couldn't be done in the vanilla release of the collection.

In its press statement, SEGA has described the collection as the "definitive classic collection", for all fans to have the ultimate Classic Sonic experience.

Sonic Origins Plus will be available as an all-in-one bundle in both digital and premium physical editions that include the Sonic Origins base game and the Plus Expansion Pack, featuring 12 Sonic Game Gear titles, playable Knuckles in Sonic CD, and for the first time ever, Amy Rose as a playable character in Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD! This pack also includes previously released add-on content: Extreme Missions, Mirror Mode, new character animations, and additional backgrounds and music. The premium physical edition will also include a 20-page artbook and a reversible coversheet that pays homage to the classic 1990s era of Sonic.

Sonic Origins Plus will be released 23 June 2023, for all current main consoles and Steam.

More than a decade following the release of their Sonic the Hedgehog Nendoroid, a pre-production figure of Miles "Tails" Prower was recently unveiled by the Good Smile Company at the "Wonderful Hobby Life For You!!" toy expo in Japan.

A Knuckles the Echidna figure was also teased by the company, but the figure will be visually introduced at a later date.
