I'm Talen! I make videos and articles and games and graphic designs and guides and messes and encouragement. Chances are you can find anything I do on my blog. I like it when you comment on my things, so please do!
do you wanna guess whether or not this guy is fine with referring to the "Debiru Mei Kurai" video game series as "Japanese", you get three guesses,
do you wanna guess whether this guy beefs with any trans woman who expresses the opinion "cyberpunk 2077, a video game that has stupid in-game art of a woman with a backwards penis and that was advertised with a gender-attack-helicopter joke, sucks ass" because he believes it is NOT transphobic and is actually the truest ever video game expression of The Poverty Experience, this time you get four guesses,
do you wanna guess whether this guy is super tight with jack "tranny offsite" monahon or not, i dunno how many guesses you need for that one
I like DocSquiddy overall, I think he has good opinions about games writing, but he can also be such a hardass about the most minor of things, and he always tweets through it.
Pretty much. In a lot of cases it reads like he really likes/dislikes something and then works backwards to form some kind of take based on liking/disliking it and then digs in as hard as possible. Usually brings an interesting angle to it but I get why people wouldn't have the patience.
oh so here's the context! never knew about this. i think doc is a generally good writer but his twitter takes are bizarre and this is even more bizarre than those standards. i have no idea how you even come to this conclusion lol.
woof, that's a crap take and shitty behavior from doc. i think one could argue that KR0 has a lot more of worth to say about America than Watch_Dogs, or that American cultural hegemony flattens the experiences of people in America and narrows the range of stories about America that get told...
but, damn, it's wild to argue that inaccurate rail lines disqualify WD from being set in Chicago when Kentucky Route Zero literally does not exist, and shitty to berate Rami over this when he is entirely justified in being bored of or averse to American stories.
you know, I honestly, honestly thought the line “there are only three games about America” meant they all reduced in their thousands to three heavily cliched types (like, my rural hometown simulator, liberate them with your bullets, and defend new york). The idea that someone meant there are literally only three specific games about America never, not once, crossed my mind. There are more than three Oregon Trails
