I remember deciding to try watching it out of social pressure and being so underwhelmed by the opening episodes that I decided to just not mention that I'd tried, it was less hassle than actually explaining how uninteresting I felt they made an already well-trodden premise.
And it's not like I've watched/read all that much anime compared to people I know! MHA was just so keen to get to "the good bits" that I didn't care about the setting or characters when the rubble started flying.
Anyway, seeing as I will never invest any time in the show itself, looking forward to putting some aside to read parts 2-5 of your article series.
I really enjoyed this sentence and the paragraph that follows.
"Also, am I too suspicious in saying that this looks like a show that introduces a lot of girls to be present on marketing but will never really do much with them?"
