Last night before bedtime, Fox expressed a wonder about the US state capitals, so I pulled up a list, randomised them, and tested to see how many of them she could correctly name, with three options: Guess the place right, guess the place wrong, or acknowledge she'd never heard of the city in question

she got 19/31 correct, with 19 passes because who the fuck knows where Pierre is. The people in Pierre don't know where Pierre is.
"Of all the cities named after states, the only one that's a capital is Oklahoma?!"
I think I know literally three of them. Two are the only states I've lived in: Austin and Sacramento. And then I know Albany just because NYC not being the capital is a meme.
The concept of people outside the US knowing more than a token number of our capitals is wild
