it's depressing as hell that expressing genuine affection like that got him so attacked :(
He was a creator I really, really looked up to. Was the one who made me realize that hey, you don't need to be a jaded, hypercritical ass to be a creator. You can be genuine, earnest, honest, appreciative, kind... and yourself, and it can be pretty amazing.
... It sucks so bad to see such a discourse whirlwind break such an honest kind of person. It sucks that this is the "normal" to be expected - that people just will... passively be this much of an asshole to even the kindest of people, picking apart everything they say and do.
Made me afraid of the whole ordeal all over again...
