Rewatching the hbomberguy video about plagiarism and realized something I haven't seen people talk about about it.
Somerton (and all the other people in the video) stole a lot of other people's content, so that they could make their work faster, and it'd take less effort. Maybe not the ONLY reason but it's a big reason, cause the more content you make, the more money you make. But plagiarisng seems like it's so much effort. How many hours of his life did Somerton waste trying to backtrack and work out plans and ideas to NOT have his life crash around him cause he was stealing people's work
Just spend that fucking time actually MAKING THE CONTENT. But I guess if HE had made the content he wouldn't have actually gotten big, probably.
the people who made the content he ripped off didn't 'get big on youtube.' A lot of them were just smaller youtubers and bloggers who never functionally got to monetise their work. The work and its quality has nothing to do with whether or not it succeds.
