Damn, RIP to a real one. I haven't thought about him in a decade but despite disagreeing with essentially everything he said about qualia and physicalism he was definitely an eloquent and fascinating philosopher to study. I always remember the apocryphal story of a conference on the philosophy of mind where the conversation over the existence of qualia got so heated with the speaker's repeated denials that any sort of internal experience existed beyond the physical that an audience member got up and stabbed them through the hand with a letter opener before inquiring how that felt.
It is pretty funny how everyone with expertise in the field has a Favourite Thing He Is Wrong About.
