it's crazy how when someone is fat online and they post a picture or video of themselves just talking or even dancing or something or even if someone just draws a fat person at least one skinny person ALWAYS has to comment on the fact that they're fat in the weirdest way possible. fat people know what i mean
"i'm not attracted to fat people but good for you for being confident about your body" (the video in question is them talking about a car crash they saw) (being confident about your body = existing while fat) (overperformance of being unattracted to fat people)
going grocery shopping or posting a shoulders-up picture of yourself while fat is "being confident" because if the people saying these things were fat they would lock themselves inside their house and draw the curtains in shame. so if you're fat and simply don't kill yourself they think you're sooo confident and that it's a compliment to tell you that. but the subtext is always that being your size is literally their worst fear
and btw to be clear "benign" stuff like "more to cuddle!" "easier to nap on!" are still extremely weird and borderline fetishistic comments to make and if you say something infantilizing like "somft... friend shaped" about my body i will report you for hate speech
